Meat and Food Processing and Storage Buildings Using Insulated Metal Panels
Meat and food processing plants, facilities, and storage buildings must not only be thermally insulated, but they must be able to control bacteria, grease, or dust. PermaTherm's structural insulated metal panels, as well as floor and ceiling panels for food and meat related facilities are generally stainless steel or FRP skinned panels, with alternative textures that support a clean work environment. PermaTherm SIPs are highly washable, hygienic, resistant to mold & stains, and meet pertinent FDA regulations and USDA conditions.
Stainless Steel SIPs are not only strong, but provide optimum protection against solvents, other corrosive chemicals, and frequent washdowns - - and are easy to maintain.
Other clean room / clean building applications may be best served with plastisol-coated metal panels, with excellent structural integrity, resistance to frequent washdowns, and ease of maintenance. When structural requirements are not the driving factor, a basic Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) panel laminates over the rigid foam insulation may be the ideal choice.
Nothing comes close to matching PermaTherm’s energy-saving properties, where required R-values can be achieved with EPS (expanded polystyrene) cores. Offered in a variety of thicknesses between 2 and 12 inches, these structural insulated panels offer unsurpassed thermal efficiency, providing the lowest cost per “R”of any similar panel product.

- fruit and grain storage
PermaTherm’s panels are a snap to install, using a simple "tongue-and-groove" design than reduces thermal bridging (heat loss), so prevalent in more complex designs. Panels simply slide into place and are easily secured to the building’s steel superstructure. In fact, PermaTherm Insulated Panels are so strong and secure, they actually enhance the strength and rigidity of the structure.
